It’s hard to believe we’re at the end of the year already. I still feel like I just started here in the music chair at CJSR, and almost an entire year has gone by! It’s been quite the learning experience, but I think I might just have the hang of it now, by gum.

One thing I love about this time of year is the massive amount of “best of” lists you can find everywhere. I missed seeing them at CJSR for last few years (I think the old site still had the top albums of 2006 on it) so way back in June I started compiling all of our chart data from every week since I started here, and now the fruits of that labour are here for you to enjoy.

“Best of” is a bit misleading perhaps. These records aren’t on this list because we arbitrarily decided they were the best releases this year. They’re here because they were the most-played albums at CJSR over the past year, as selected by our DJs and requested by our listeners.

CJSR’s top 100 provides a snapshot of the variety of programming available here at 88.5FM, with indie, folk, punk, metal, blues, electronic, hip hop, soul and so much more getting represented.

Any bolded artist you see is based in Edmonton.
