Humanities 101, or HUM, or HUM 101, is a free, university-level non-credit course that challenges conventions of university learning by recognizing and valuing multiple ways of knowing and learning. HUM strives to make engaged learning as accessible as possible by eliminating financial barriers, and pushing against the situational and institutional barriers put in place to exclude many people from attending post-secondary.
Tune in every Friday at 6PM to participate in HUM 101’s Fall 2020 course!
The theme for this term is “Storytelling”. Listeners and participants can expect to hear from many storytellers from different cultures with different ways of telling stories. These guests will share their understanding of stories and storytelling as well as some of their own stories. In addition to hearing from storytellers, we have guest faculty who will introduce theories about how and why stories are so important in shaping our understandings of the world.
