Promotions Coordinator assists with the essential tasks related to the preparation for our annual FunDrive campaign through prizing and securing contracts for our annual Friends of CJSR Card Program.
Tasks
- Prepare an information package for each Friends of CJSR participant from the current year, to provide a performance report/summary of the program and benefits.
- Connect with current Friends Card businesses and confirm involvement for next year and update CJSR’s Friends business contracts
- Seek out new businesses to add to Friends Card and/or donate to FunDrive prizing, when successful generate/process contract agreement
- Update and maintain a fundraising database of all CJSR FunDrive contributors/business donors and Friends Partner Businesses, including high-res branding files and social media accounts
- Audit and updating the Friends of CJSR webpage and online presence
- Prepare content for social media platforms and website to share, spotlight and thank participating Friends of CJSR for use during fundraiser
- Prepare thank you messages for Friends
- Prepare a summary of work to provide CJSR with areas where improvements can be made, successes where achieved etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong communicator (open, fun and professional approach)
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a dynamic, hectic environment with a minimum of supervision
- Experience using Word and Google Docs
- Prior experience volunteering with CJSR is an asset, but not required
- Experience working with and coordinating volunteers is an asset
- Experience promoting organizations or businesses at community events is an asset
- Experience working for non-profit, community organizations is an asset
- University of Alberta students and recent graduates may be given preference
Terms
- 30 hours a week (through summer)
- Position begins as soon as a successful candidate is found (as soon as May 11, 2026)
- $18/hour
- This position is contingent on funding from the Canada Summer Jobs program. You must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment. International students do not qualify under this funding program.
