What CJSR collects, and why
Personal information at CJSR
This policy covers CJSR 88.5 FM, operated by the First Alberta Campus Radio Association, and the service providers acting on its behalf.
What counts as personal information
Information about an identifiable individual. Name, address, phone number, age, sex, marital status, identifying numbers, financial information and educational history all count.
What CJSR collects, and what for
| Information | Why it is collected |
|---|---|
Donor name and contact details | Issuing tax receipts and sending merchandise |
Volunteer details | Enrolling volunteers and running training |
Member details | Sending membership information |
What you type into a form on this site | Answering the thing you contacted CJSR about |
Your email address, if you subscribe | Sending you the newsletter |
Personal information is normally collected directly from the person it is about. It is kept only as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected for.
Consent
CJSR asks for consent to collect, use or disclose personal information, except where the law allows otherwise. Consent is assumed when you volunteer information for an obvious purpose, such as giving your address so a tax receipt can reach you. For a new purpose, CJSR asks again.
How it is used
Only for the purpose it was collected for, unless the law authorises something else or you agree to it.
The website
Donations on this site are processed by DonorPerfect, and what you enter into the donation form is handled under their terms as well as this policy. Submissions from the contact form and the event request form are stored in CJSR's content management system so staff can answer them. Newsletter subscriptions are held by the email service CJSR uses to send it.
Getting rid of it
Paper records are shredded. Electronic records are permanently deleted.
