Come to news training or volunteer orientation and join the team before CJSR’s annual FunDrive!

If you’ve been a longtime volunteer, consider dropping in if you want a refresher on recording technique, Logic Pro, story structure, or interviewing tips.

When: Saturday, September 5 (12-3 PM)
Where: CJSR World Domination Headquarters, Students Union Building, University of Alberta
Who: New volunteers and existing volunteers looking for a brush-up

Join News Coordinator Chris Chang-Yen Phillips to learn:

  • Basics of Interviewing
  • Basics of Editing in Logic Pro (including keyboard shortcuts and compression)
  • Recording in Studio B
  • Post-production
  • Writing for radio

Volunteer Orientation

Who: Brand new & prospective volunteers who want to learn what CJSR is all about.

Not a CJSR volunteer but want to be? CJSR Program Director Chad Brunet will guide you through the steps of volunteering at CJSR. Bring your questions!

Interviewing Like a Pro

Brush up your interviewing skills with this free workshop from Sarah Hoyles, producer and host at CKUA and creator of the Pet Sounds podcast. All CJSR volunteers are invited to attend this free workshop to learn about focusing your interview, creating an engaging conversation for listeners, and asking outstanding questions.

When: September 19 (11 AM – 1 PM)
Where: Room 0-48, Students Union Building, University of Alberta
