Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (1)
Responsibilities of this position:
The Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (1) assists with the essential tasks related to the preparation for our annual fundraising campaign, FunDrive, and focuses on securing contracts for our Friends of CJSR Card Program. Specifically, they:
- Contact current Friends Card businesses and confirm involvement for 2022/2023 and update CJSR’s Friends business contracts
- Seek out new businesses to add to Friends Card
- Update the Friends of CJSR webpage, Google site, app, and other online forms
- Audit the Friends of CJSR app
- Solicit pledge incentives for the fundraiser (daily prizes)
- Update and maintain a fundraising database of all CJSR FunDrive contributors/business donors
- Generate ideas for year-round fundraising events and campaigns
- Design and implement marketing campaigns to inform the public about the CJSR FunDrive and other fundraising events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have own access to computer, phone, and internet
- Strong communicator (open, fun and professional approach)
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a dynamic, hectic environment with a minimum of supervision
- Experience using Word and Google Docs
- Prior experience volunteering with CJSR is an asset, but not required
- Experience working with and coordinating volunteers is an asset
- Experience promoting organizations or businesses at community events is an asset
- Experience working for non-profit, community organizations is an asset
- Graphic design and layout experience is an asset
- University of Alberta students and recent graduates may be given preference
Terms:
- 30 hours a week (through summer)
- Position begins as soon as a successful candidate is found (as soon as May 11, 2022)
- $16.04/hour

Advertising and Promotions Coordinator (2)
Responsibilities of this position:
This position will plan and help implement future CJSR information tables and/or live broadcasts from farmers markets, local festivals, musical performances, concerts, and other arts and cultural events for the summer of 2022. This includes:
- Supporting CJSR’s community relations committee
- Updating lists of contact information for festival organizers
- Scouting new outreach opportunities around Edmonton
- Acting as a CJSR representative at arts and culture events
- Assisting with radio show recruitment, including reaching out to student clubs
- Ensuring COVID-19 safety protocols are followed at tabling events
- Ensuring supplies are adequate at tabling events including graphic design for table materials
- Running contests/giveaways during tabling events
- Generating content for social media
- Managing CJSR’s swag inventory
- Maintaining CJSR online store
- Developing lists of contact information and festival preparation requirements for future years
- Engaging volunteers in outreach opportunities by soliciting their help
- Performing other duties as assigned

Production Assistant
Responsibilities of this position:
The Production Assistant will record and edit audio for CJSR’s broadcast and assist in on-air promotion of programs and other station initiatives. This includes:
- Producing station IDs and other audio branding
- Preparing testimonials for CJSR’s annual fundraising campaign
- Write and produce a series of promos for CJSR programming
- Record and edit PSAs about community issues or special days of commemoration
- Handle the production of certain ads, which require regular updating
- Under the supervision of the Production Coordinator, develop guides to be used in future production training sessions
- Assisting in program support and/or live remotes
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have own access to computer, phone, and internet
- Experience in audio recording or editing required
- Experience using Logic Pro, Hindenburg, or equivalent audio editing programs
- Experience using Word and Google Docs
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable with a strong work ethic
- Strong communicator (open, fun, and professional approach)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, hectic environment with a minimum of supervision
- Track record of meeting regular deadlines
- Prior experience volunteering with CJSR is an asset, but not required
