August 17: Finding Your Radio Voice

| & filed under Training.

How do you sound like *you* on the radio? The August workshop for CJSR news volunteers will help you unlock the true potential of your voice.

When: Wednesday, August 17 – 6-8 PM
Where: Room 0-33, Students Union Building

This workshop is led by CJSR’s very own Marie Fontaine, from All That Matters and Adamant Eve. In this workshop, you’ll be given the opportunity to creatively explore your radio voice. Through group discussion, vocal, written and listening exercises, we’ll endeavour to help you locate your own broadcasting style.

“The primary tool of radio is the voice. Often on news programmes, the voice is used in a simple declared way, summarizing events, giving you the level of information that programmers think you need. But the human voice has more power than that. When it is used to express personal experience, it can find its way past your defenses and sneak inside to inhabit you and even find its way to your heart.”
