Become CJSR’s Arts Reporter or Community Outreach Assistant this summer!

CJSR is searching for post-secondary students to work in two positions through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Arts Reporter

The Arts Reporter will enhance CJSR’s arts coverage by producing short daily and weekly radio segments. These segments will cover local arts and culture events and personalities, as well as stories about Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. This reporter will work with CJSR’s News Coordinator at the station, as well as around town.

Community Outreach Assistant

The Community Outreach Assistant will plan out CJSR’s involvement (including information tables and/or live broadcasts) in local festivals, concerts, and other arts and cultural events. Potential events include the 150th anniversary of Confederation, CariWest, Edmonton Pride, and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. They will also increase station profile and event awareness via station social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc), and support CJSR’s community relations committee.

Terms for both positions:

  • 30 hours a week
  • May 1, 2017 – Aug 19, 2017
  • $15.24/hour

Applications due by 4 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.

Funding for these positions is supported by Canada Summer Jobs Program. You must be a full-time post secondary student during the preceding academic year between 15 and 30 (though not enrolled in full-time studies during the summer session) and have the intention of returning to school full-time in the fall. Proof of enrollment for fall term is required. International students unfortunately do not qualify under this funding program.
