Mar 21 & 22: Creating a Story Arc Workshop

| & filed under Training.

In this workshop for news volunteers, you’ll learn how to take a jumble of tape and turn it into a story with a coherent narrative arc.

You’ve done your interviews. You’ve gathered all your tape. Now you’re staring at a mountain of recordings, with no idea how to stitch it all together. Let’s figure it out together in this workshop on Creating a Story Arc, led by CJSR News Coordinator Chris Chang-Yen Phillips.

We’ll discuss:
– Where to start editing
– Planning ahead vs working with what you’ve got
– Different ways to structure your story
– Working with your show’s format and audience expectations

This workshop is being offered twice (only register for one):

Wednesday, March 21 6-8 PM (Kihiw Room 0-48, Students Union Building)
Thursday, March 22 6-8 PM (Marigold Room 0-31, Students Union Building)
