Volunteer Orientation

Not a CJSR volunteer but want to be? Sign up for this free session, and CJSR Program Director Chad Brunet will guide you through the steps of volunteering at CJSR. Bring your questions!

When: Saturday, March 7 (12PM – 1PM) 
Where: Room TBA, Students Union Building, University of Alberta
Who: Brand new & prospective volunteers who want to learn what CJSR is all about.

News Training

News Training is a two-part workshop. Both sessions are mandatory to complete this training. Across these sessions, CJSR News Coordinator Meagan Miller will give you hands-on experience in:

Basics of Interviewing
Basics of Editing in Hindenburg
Recording in Studio B
Post-production
Writing for radio

By the end, you’ll have made a complete news story, and you’ll be able to present it on Generator, our new producer showcase!

PLEASE NOTE: *You must complete Volunteer Orientation in order to attend News Training. If you intend to double up Orientation and News Training in the same day (only applicable for Saturday sessions), please email Meagan at news@cjsr.com to confirm*
