Access Day 2021

| & filed under Uncategorized.

May 20 is Global Accessibility Awareness Day! Listen in as CJSR joins a national marathon of accessibility-related programming, organized by our sister station CiTR.

Access Day programming features content that is about accessibility, self-advocacy, social accessibility, adaptive programming and more!

This year, CJSR producers contributed one hour of content:

  • Simran Pherwani produced a 30 minute segment on the Gateway Association
  • Jarret Kamm produced a 30 minute piece on accessible transit and housing advocate, Levi Lawton

Tune in throughout the day for these stories and more!

CiTR works to foster and sustain a safe and inclusive environment for their members, volunteers, guests and supporters. They reflect the UBC campus, the city, and the diversity of people from both communities, and honour an inclusive, healthy and dynamic society in which each person, regardless of background, experience or circumstance, is able to participate and benefit in varying capacities. So, CiTR’s Access Day programming focuses on these commitments through the content and voices of their guests, bringing these values, and the associated challenges, to the minds and ears of listeners, volunteers, and programmers.

You can find last year’s programming here.
