March News Workshop: Creating a Story Arc!

| & filed under News, News Training, opportunities.

You’ve done your interviews. You’ve gathered all your tape. Now you’re staring at a mountain of recordings, with no idea how to stitch it all together… This is the workshop for you!

CJSR’s Chris Chang-Yen Phillips will show you how to take a jumble of tape and turn it into a story with a coherent narrative arc. This workshop is only for news volunteers, and will be useful for those working on pre-recorded stories.

We’ll discuss:

  • Where to start editing

  • Planning ahead vs working with what you’ve got

  • Different ways to structure your story

  • Working with your show’s format and audience expectations

When: Saturday, March 19 from 1PM-3PM

Where: Zoom!
